As a fashion blogger, people always ask me to name some of my favourite brands. I have to say that I find it hard to choose from so many. But Tod’s definitely makes it to my Top 5 list. I just can’t seem to get enough of their campaigns and, of course, my favourite—the Gommino loafer. Another thing that I do religiously is to follow the work of the brands and their Creative Directors. Be it Lagerfeld at Chanel, Jacobs at Vuitton or Bailey at Burberry, there’s no denying that these creative heads are the backbone of the brand and are responsible for the direction that a brand is going to take.
While on the subject of Tod’s, the Italian brand recently announced Alessandra Facchinetti as their new Creative Director for womenswear. Her tenure at the helm of this luxury brand began in early March but the first fruits of her creation will be seen in September when her first collection will be showcased at Milan Fashion Week. For me, as a menswear specialist, it is Tod’s menswear collections that interest me greatly, however, it is not mutually exclusive to womenswear. And for me it is important to know what’s happening across the brand. Which is why, Miss Facchinetti, we’ll be watching closely and taking notes….UrbanEye wishes you luck!
