Allen Solly’s #OfflineClique — India’s Fashion Influencers

When the guys at Allen Solly called me up announcing that I had been selected to be part of their new #Colorlab Lookbook, as part of India’s fashion influencers, I have to say that I was highly flattered. To announce their new collection, which is a veritable EXPLOSION of colour, the fashion brand wanted us all to ditch those greys and whites, and wear some colour on our sleeve, quite literally. In a brief to us, the brand ‘refused to let us be part of a grey scale world’. I agreed and before I knew it, I was on a flight to Delhi, in for a very memorable day.
The shoot took place at a lovely French restaurant called Cheri One, an elegant and posh dining space, right across the street from the Qutub Minar.

As I arrived at the shoot, eager to know who the others in the gang were, I discovered a host of fun and interesting people. Unique jobs, unique personalities, unconventional jobs — that’s what these people were all about. A TV presenter, an ad-man, a blogger, a tea sommelier (yes, how exotic, such a profession does exist), a travel photographer, a marketing an PR professional, a student, the digital editor of a fashion magazine, and a few more.

As the day progressed, each of us had our turn before the camera. And before I knew it, it was time for make-up (!!), hair (I underestimated the power of a hair stylist and my crew cut) and I was ready for my shoot. As always, I looked at the options and choose the most sobre of them all, a light shirt, with chinos and a nice red jacket, just to add the colour. I was instantly pulled up by Allen Solly’s style police, who vetoed by choice and instantly pushed me towards a more colourful option. I was reluctant at first but then I looked at the final result in the mirror… I LOVED IT. Beige pants, a bright yellow shirt and an AWESOME red jacket. The yellow and red, go so well together, don’t you think? A nice work-casual look. I’d totally sport this to a meeting or a casual lunch out with colleagues. That reminds me, I need to incorporate more cotton summer jackets into my daytime wardrobe. One in red perhaps??

I’ll let you guys be the judge of my look. Let me know what you think.
