When home-grown brand Breakbounce launched its men’s streetwear collections a few seasons ago, I saw a lot of potential. They were entering a new territory in menswear. While the Joneses were dabbling in bespoke suits, custom jackets and coloured chinos, Breakbounce carved a niche for itself as a quintessential men’s streetwear brand, which is inspired by Dutch craftsmanship and European street fashion nuances. I have been watching their collections closely for a while now and I love how they have evolved and formed an identity of their own. I was invited by the Breakbounce team recently to check out their new Fall-Winter collection and I loved what I saw.
Here are some of my top picks from the collection.
For me, the strongest point of this collection have been the jackets. The charm of every piece lies in the small detailing here and there, making each piece truly unique. Take, for instance, this AWESOME biker jacket, with these gorgeous leather details and, my favourite part, the pintuck panels at the back
I also loved this vintage denim jacket, which is thick and rugged but somehow worked quite well with my formal blue shirt.
I love the effect of this splotch washed city jacket. The shaded effect lends a very industrial, grungy look.
I also loved the shirts on offer. There’s a classic denim shirt, which I love for its simplicity and timeless appeal.
The next shirt is one of my top picks from the entire collection. A modern reinterpretation of the classic denim shirt – a men’s streetstyle staple.
But it was the simplest and most unexpected piece that made its way to the top of my list. This is indeed my favourite piece from the entire collection. Why, you ask? Well, it is a simple full-sleeve tee, in two of my all time favourite materials – jersey and chambray (collar piping) – and two of my favourite colours – grey and blue.
It’s nice to see an Indian brand like Breakbounce, breaking into a new territory of men’s fashion and raising it to international standards. I can’t wait to see more. This collection gets a thumbs up from me.
