Did I forget to mention that simple beige chinos work best with tan brogues.

In the #GroomingGuru’s Shoes — My Footwear+Trouser Combos

Just the other day I went to work in a pair of jogger pants, paired with leather loafers and a chic, half-sleeved shirt. Only a few years ago, I would have thought of this as a complete style travesty. Joggers and loafers to work? Who would have imagined. Well, as things stand, the very notion of men’s workwear is changing. The stuffy corporate attire of yore is finally giving way to a more casual approach.¬†And with the change in wardrobe, footwear will inevitably undergo a change too. We are moving away from the traditional black and brown lace-ups and trying out new stuff. We are ditching the conventional black/brown office trousers and looking for trendier options. Hence, the shoe+trouser combination plays a very important part in your office attire. In this blogpost, I dive into my personal wardrobe, pair them with workwear shoes from Tresmode’s latest collection and tell you the shoe+trouser combinations I have been sporting this season. Remember, these rules are all about personal style and are, by no means, set in stone. If they inspire you to break free from your regular corporate attire and experiment with style, then my job is done. Enjoy the read.

  1. Loafers and Jogger Pants
This is a new look that I have been experimenting with all through the current season.

Needless to remind you, always worn without socks, these loafers are IDEAL for a long day at work, when you need to be comfortable and still look chic.

    2. Loafers and Jeans

This is a classic combination and you can never go wrong. Sport a pair of fitted blue jeans, paired with soft leather loafers. For the top, your possibilities are endless, but I personally always love a nice checked made-to-measure shirt with a jeans+loafers combo.

    3. Light lace-up brogues and coloured chinos

Coloured trousers seem to be all the rage these past few seasons. I personally love this trend. When it comes to pairing shoes with coloured chinos, I always like to offset the trousers with shoes of another colour. So both stand out equally.

    4. Papal Shoes

This is a very interesting new piece that I've added to my shoe collection. The Papal shoe or the Papal slipper, is a twist on your regular loafer. Loosely inspired by the red Prada loafers worn by the Pope, these blue suede loafers really do look lovely on a tuxedo or a dinner jacket, but can work equally well at the workplace. I pair it with simple white trousers so that the focus remains on the shoes.

    5. Tan Brogues

I save the best for last. Tan brogues are my absolute favourite kind of footwear. They are just so undeniably dapper.

I always make it a point to wear the most outrageous socks with my tan brogues. It could add a quirky twist to the most sober of outfits.
