For the next season, French luxury giant Louis Vuitton hops across the Atlantic Ocean, seeking its inspiration in the United States. The Spring-Summer 2014 collection, presented recently in Paris, had some interesting fashion twists. Inspired by the American road trip, from the Eat to the West coast, the French have taken American style and jazzed it up this season. Classic American sportswear and formal pieces, which we know and love so well, have been transformed into glamorous avatars.
“The clothing should have that do-what-you-want attitude. It’s a road trip drawing on elements of classic American culture from clothes, music to souvenirs. It’s the changing environment from city to forest to desert; that journey in a day from snow covered mountains to cacti in the desert that you can only really seem to have in America. Like the radio you listen to as you travel through the states, ” says a spokesperson of the brand, with creative director Marc Jacobs at its helm.
