Yesterday, I lunched at what is, in my opinion, the best Asian restaurant in the city. San Qi at Four Seasons Mumbai. Needless to say, my ‘light lunch’ was everything that I expected it to be – flavorful, delicate, aromatic and beautifully presented. While San Qi offers you the choice of Thai, Japanese, Chinese and Indian menus, I chose dishes off the Thai and Chinese menus, as I am clearly biased towards these cuisines. We began with a steamed prawn dumpling and a portion of my all time favourite – Salmon Sushi. For mains, the smoky flavour of the spinach noodles with exotic veggies had me raving. This was accompanied by an explosion of Thai lime and spices in the form of a pomfret fillet in a thin spicy sauce. Though I chose not to have desert yesterday, you can’t end a good meal without a good coffee. So cappuccino it was!
I have never hidden the fact that I am a sucker for Asian food and it is no wonder that this restaurant keeps me coming back for more. I must also add that it was at San Qi that I enjoyed the best Thai Basil Chicken in the city – a delicacy, which I unfailingly try at every Thai restaurant in the city. I have to admit that I’ve had inconsistent dining experiences at the Four Seasons Mumbai – at their Italian restaurant – but San Qi has my loyalty. They also have one of the best Sunday buffets in the city – paired with unlimited Veuve Clicquot, if you please – featuring a live sushi bar, Thai counter, barbeque, grill and the works. Can’t wait to go back.
I’ve attached a few pictures of my lunch so that you guys can enjoy what I did.
