So I was in Singapore recently to attend the Singapore Grand Prix weekend and boy was it fun. I couldn’t think of a better weekend getaway – Formula 1 night races, fast cars, parties, Singapore’s awesome food, lots of great cocktails and, of course lots of great fashion.
As you all know, there is not much scope for dressing up in Singapore because the weather, on a daily basis, is hot, humid and often quite stifling. So there’s virtually no layering expected!
No surprise, then, that I chose to opt for an easy-breezy California look for my Singapore expeditions.
When it comes to my California street style look, I choose to focus on the two Cs — Colour and cotton. Yes, cotton.
So here’s how I styled pieces from Celio India’s fabulous California collection….
On day one of my Singapore trip, I had to make my way to buzzing Orchard Road to do a bit of shopping.
I put together a very simple, easy-to-do California look – a nice statement tee with a cool print — in soft cotton so it permitted me to walk around the city in the sweltering heat quite effortlessly.
I paired my tee with a pair of chino shorts, slim fit, ending just above the knee for a sharp silhouette.
And finally, I thought I’d make a statement of myself by wearing a pair of fluorescent yellow sneakers just to add that lovely, summery pop of colour.
Later that day, I had to make my way to the Formula 1 track. I had a long evening in front of me and I decided to opt for jeans because I was to visit some restaurants and bars.
Once again – with my focus on colour, I opted for a pair of slim fit stretch denims and added the dose of California through a nice beach-like tee.
For my evening out, I thought I’d dress up my casual look just a bit and decided to throw on a blue checked shirt — in light cotton, once again, for that extra effect.
Paired with white sneakers, and my jeans cuffed up just a wee bit to reveal some ankle, I was all set to take on Singapore in style with this California-meets-denim look.
I’ve posted pictures of my Singapore street style by Celio India across all my social platforms and I’d love to hear your comments so don’t forget to say something.
