Need a place to work hard and play harder? We at Urban Eye, got a first look at the brand new Todi Mill Social, Lower Parel, Mumbai.
Whether you choose to visit Todi Mill Social for a business meeting or just to ponder over an upcoming assignment, the Social provides a peaceful and inspiring ambience. The whole purpose is for it to be a shared workspace cum café for those who have no definite place to work out of. People can come there during the day, work, order a coffee, grab a bit, set up meetings, etc. Infact, you can even become a member here, and the rates are extremely reasonable.
The décor provides an industrial warehouse kind of feel, with lots of vintage elements like metallic benches and barstools, wooden computer tables, leather sofas and rows of old cinema seats. At the entrance, near the big, bright metallic door, there is a huge weaving machine, symbolic of Lower Parel’s textile mill history.
And to satisfy those hunger pangs you may ask? The food is absolutely delicious. Keeping a similar menu to the Colaba Social, the new additions to the menu, like Iroon Junglee Podo, Pork Belly Pops, Let Us Wrap, etc make it seem like they’ve really got something up their sleeves! The genius behind all the mouth watering bits is none other than celebrity chef Riyaaz Amlani, CEO and MD Impresario Restaurants. The concept behind the food is to bring back childhood memories and to serve typical street food like a gourmet meal on enamel plates or even a GRAMAPHONE RECORD. The menu cards are my favourite though, being made to look like newspapers.
The Todi Mill Social has two sections, and if you’re wondering where you can quench your thirst, the lower section has a bar, which has some super fun cocktails like Schizophrenia (Absolut Kurant, Orchid, Lavender, Sweet and Sour), The Rusty Nail(Whiskey, Drambuie), U.S. Mule(Green Apple & Smoke Gin, Earl Grey Tea, Tang) and their famous massive Long Island Ice Teas. A new addition to their bar menu includes a drink called The Lantern which is a mix of Jim Beam, smoked orange marmalade and sweet and sour. The best part…it’s served IN a lantern! How cool is that?
So if you’re ever in need of a convenient place to work out of, get inspired, or just need a break, I think the Social will do that and more. Quirky, peaceful and completely trendy, the Social Todi Mills Mumbai is definitely the place to be.
