Trendin.com Review: India’s Latest Menswear E-Commerce Portal

There’s a new player in the online shopping space in India. Trendin.com, started by Madura Fashion & Lifestyle, is the latest e-commerce multi-brand portal to appear in the Indian market. Showcasing products for men, women and children, all of Madura’s brands are now available under one roof, or should we say under one domain name. From Allen Solly and Louis Philippe to Peter England and Van Heusen, the choice is vast and impressive. In addition, I was pretty impressed by the quirky tee-shirt offerings of Arvind’s lesser known brands like People, Rig and JM Sport.

I spent some time on the website, going through the products on sale and even managed to shop for a few interesting finds. Read on to find out my shopping experience at Trendin.com, a review of the customer interface, followed by three looks that I put together from the stuff that I shopped on the site.

The home page of Trendin.com
The home page of Trendin.com has an eye-catching layout, with subheads for men, women, kids, brand-wise collection and even the sale section.

I like the fact that Trendin.com offers its customers the possibility to to brand-specific shopping as well, especially since a lot of their customers are regulars at brands like, say, Louis Philippe, Allen Solly and the likes.

These filters make online shopping so much easier. Take, for instance, the shirt section, which has filters like price, size, fit, colour, sleeve, collar, pattern and even brand.
I normally wear a size 42 shirt, in a slim fit, and with full-sleeves. Here are my shortlisted options.

A nice, colourful selection of tees too.

I made my selection and the stuff reached me within three days as promised. Scroll down to see the three looks that I put together from my Trendin.com shopping bag.

I was in desperate need of a pair of white trousers as the pair that I currently old had turned into a pleasant shade of, well, beige.

Got this pair of Louis Philippe, slim-fit, white casual trousers. They fit me like a glove and boast an almost blinding shade of white. (Hey, I'm not complaining). Trousers: INR 2, 200.

I always like to contrast my white trousers with a striking, checked shirt. I found this super comfy, bright blue checked shirt by which offset my white trousers perfectly.

Add a tan belt to the equation, my Lonchamp Pliage for men and I've got an elegant, street style look in a jiffy.

Then I decided to shop for tees. The choice was overwhelming. I literally shortlisted about 15 tees from the myriad brands, all in fabulous colours and prints. My profession as a journalist and blogger, requires me to be omni present on social media. Which is why I thought this Instagram tee was appropriate. I don't often do white-on-white, but I think this look worked quite well.

I am in love with this print. Don't forget to accessorise well, with a nice leather bracelet. INR 300.

And finally, the icing on the cake. The best tee that I unearthed from Trendin's staggering offering -- this rather creepy bug tee, featuring a gamut of creepy crawlies.

My verdict on Trendin.com: Poised to become the next big online shopping destination, Trending.com has a very impressive offering. What works for it is the gamut of brands under its umbrella, offering endless choices and possibilities to its customers. What’s more, I found it to be rather pocket friendly, without eliminating more premium garments from brands like, say, Louis Philippe. Besides, Trendin seems to have got its filters and choice-narrowing options for each garment down pat.
On the downside, the website interface could use a bit of a rethink especially in terms of over-responsiveness of some of the click-options. The slightest move of the cursor could lead to windows and drop-down menus popping open, leaving you confused and sometimes even leading you to another page.
Would I shop here again? Most certainly.
