I have been a huge fan of the Triumph Daytona 675 for the longest time however, after being a rider I gravitated more towards bikes with a slightly more upright stance than the crouched, aerodynamic, racer stance needed for something like the Daytona. That’s where my affinity for the Speed Triple began.
In my opinion, it is THE perfect bike for the city (which is where you will be using it for the vast majority of the time) and the occasional long cruise here or there.
So Triumph tweaked the Daytona’s winning formula and after stripping the fairing and modifying its engine launched the game changing original Street Triple in 2007 as a light, fast, fun, agile and stylish street fighter. My personal favorite thing about the bike is its very distinct dragonfly compound eye like headlamps.
That along with its thrilling triple engine, aggressive looks and intuitive handling it set the benchmark, redefined the roadster market and went on to become a favourite for passionate Street Triple fans worldwide. This is a bike that has never had any problems standing out from the crowd.
And so today, with the launch of the all-new 2017 Street Triple S it will serve you a thrilling, agile and addictive ride every day. It sports a new race bred 765cc engine that has a new level of power and torque, new state of the art technology, the highest ever level of suspension, brakes and tyres, and class leading weight – the Street Triple S has pushed its class’s bar even higher.
I will also gladly admit to being a sucker for the soul stirring superbike exhaust acoustics and so in that department, the Street Triple S produces a richer sound track, from a lighter, free flowing exhaust and revised air box which delivers an intoxicating and an even more distinctive induction howl.
The new line-up all feature a significant styling evolution to deliver more attitude and a sharper more athletic poise, inspired by the ‘nose-down’ focussed attitude of the latest generation Speed Triples.
Just looking at it you can tell that it’s built for the sheer joy of riding!
