#GroomingGuru Winter Fashion – New Year’s Eve Look

Many people have asked me what look I am planning to sport on New Year’s Eve. Living in Mumbai, adopting winter fashion is always tricky. This is a night when everybody’s out popping their bottles of Moët and having a good time. There’s a certain joie de vivre in the air, and, as you would expect, the winter fashion quotient is pretty high. Those of you who are attending an elegant New Year’s Eve Ball, would be required to be clad in your formal best, going the whole nine yards with a tux et al. For me, however, the uber-formal look works best at Christmastime, when I do attend a formal ball.

This New Year’s Eve, I am hosting a champagne soirée in my apartment for a few close friends. Needless to say, as a host, I need to be effortlessly chic, yet comfortable enough to move around and ensure that everyone’s having a blast. While I am certainly not going to go all out casual. I’ve decided to opt for a casual-glamorous look, reflecting the city boy look that I am most comfortable with. A quintessential ‘Urban Eye’ male.

Here’s what I’ve put together. FullSizeRender-26
I base the look around a funky printed tee from Shuffle Fashion, a new fashion forward label by Arvind Fashion Brands Ltd — designed to compete with the likes of Zara and Topshop.

I love the print and the fabric is soft and cosy, perfect for a bit of layering.

Now wearing a simple printed tee on New Year’s Eve would be underwhelming, so I paired it with what’s the trendiest thing in town right now – cuffed joggers.IMG_9864

But that’s not enough, so I threw on an elegant, super-chic zip-up knit cardigan to add that sharp, urban feel, and to frame the print on my tee. IMG_9869
I slip into a pair of tan Oxfords — nope, sneakers don’t work for this look — and I am good to go.

What about a few touches of glamour, you ask? Well, I threw on a few pieces from my jewellery collection. I’ve been crushing on platinum jewellery all through 2015, because I find that it adds just the right dose of precious and is so undeniably elegant. So here I am, sporting a simple platinum neckpiece and a fun bracelet with these awesome hexagonal links (I chose the hexagon because it represents France and my love for France, but only a few would notice this).IMG_9877
