Winter Must-Have: Flannel Shirts

I am quite fond of associating one particular piece of clothing with a season. For example, I can best associate summer with my collection of bright coloured shorts.
For fall, I can only think of my comfy hoodies, paired with almost anything. When it comes to winter, there is no denying that flannel shirts are my absolute favourite. Living in Mumbai, where the winter is not too harsh and where all you need is a thin cardigan, flannel shirts come as a good idea. Why, you ask? Well, for starters, a flannel shirt is thick and therefore keeps you warm. Besides that, it is so-so-soft and cosy, making it absolutely perfect. Most importantly, flannel shirts go well with almost anything.
This season, I have to say that French Connection’s collection of flannel shirts has floored me. I absolutely love the colours on offer and the quality, of course, is excellent. So I picked out some of French Connection’s flannel shirts to add to my wardrobe this season. Here are some pairing ideas for you.

Flannel Shirts
I started with a basic flannel shirt in the predictable red, white and blue checks. Paired perfectly with French Connection jeans and Safari boots.

This is my favourite way of pairing a flannel shirt: layer it with a sleeveless, quitled jacket (also known as a gilet or a doudoune in Europe) by French Connection.
